Affordable campsites in Albania

Albania is by the Adriatic and Ionic Seas and is a yet undiscovered dream destination on the Balkans. High mountains, green valleys and pearly white beaches, you will find them all in this little country. Besides the expansive natural beauty, the country is also known for its low prices, for example for food, drinks and overnight stays. And with CampingCard ACSI, you can slash the costs even further in the low season!

Experience the unspoilt countryside and history

Despite its modest size, Albania has plenty to offer:

  • In the north, you will find the Albanian Alps, also called the 'Accursed Mountains'. This mountain range is on the border area with Montenegro and Kosovo. Here, you can walk through breathtaking landscapes with high peaks and deep valleys. The weather can change suddenly, so make sure you have good shoes and a raincoat.
  • Llogara National Park, located on the coast, offers a combination of mountains and rock formations in the sea. It is like you are visiting the Norwegian fjords! This area used to be an important trade route, and you will still find remains of old civilisations.
  • Culture lovers can indulge themselves in cities such as Gjirokastër and Berat, both on the UNESCO World Heritage List. There you will find historic architecture, old castles and museums that tell you all about the ancient history in which the Ottomans and Romans played prominent roles.
  • Albania is also known for its stunning beaches. You can choose the popular beaches in Durrës and Vlorë or opt for the more undiscovered coastline of Sarandë and Ksamil.

A country of lakes

You will find many expansive lakes in Albania, such as Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa.  Many of the beaches and bays by these lakes are only accessible by boat, which allows you to enjoy these serene spots in peace and quiet. Another well-known lake is Lake Komani, where the ferry makes the crossing to Valbona National Park once a day. You will not get bored during the two-and-a-half-hour trip, seeing as the views are amazing!

Pleasant temperatures in the low season

Albania has a Mediterranean climate on the coast and continental climate inland. This means the summers are warm and the winters mild on the coast, while the winters are cooler inland. If you decide to camp in Albania in the low season with CampingCard ACSI, there are plenty of months in which you won't have to wrap up warm. The average temperatures during the low season are as follows:
