A great campsite with a 10-15 minute walk along a path to Beynac village. Quite busy at the start of June, but no problem with availability of facilities, which were kept very clean with good hot water for washing up.
Pitch sizes are variable although didn't seem to be a huge difference between some of the standard, large and XL pitch sizes. We had a standard pitch with a lovely view of the chateau (once the foliage was strimmed!) which was big enough for our caravan with a sunshade and the car although quite close to the next pitch. We wouldn't bother upgrading to a larger pitch if we returned. Superb value at the off season ACSI price.
Generally quiet as away from roads and the nearby train line had very little traffic and none at night.
The pool is excellent - one of the best we have been to. It is a reasonable size, kept very clean and a good temperature. Morning bread is available to order, and although there is a bar/restaurant we didn't try it.
We were provided with lots of information by the English speaking friendly owners about surrounding attractions, and the campsite arranges canoe trips along the Dordogne with pick-up and return to the site by minibus. Highly recommended!
Loads to do in the surrounding area and some lovely hikes possible from the site along the river and hills.
We extended our stay as we enjoyed it so much. We will definitely return.

Excellent campsite located within easy walking distance of Beynac with very welcoming owners offering advice on attractions and activities. The toilets and showers are modern and kept very clean with plenty hot water. Large pool area with plenty of sun beds/umbrellas. Spacious pitches of various sizes some with a view of Chateau Beynac. Plenty to do in the area with walking and mountain bike trails right outside the entrance.

Fantastic Campsite with excellent sanitary facilities. Spacious pitches. Caroline and Derrick are wonderful hosts with nothing too much trouble for them. Highly recommend this campsite

Great location, friendly owners

A fabulous campsite surrounded by nature, though only a 15 minute walk avoiding the road into Beynac. It was busy end of May/beginning of June and was particularly popular with Dutch campers.
The site is well established with trees and shrubs, and there is a good choice of pitch sizes as well as sun and shady options. We chose to have an extra large pitch which was only 2 euros extra on the ACSI price (excellent value). We were lucky enough to also have a view of the chateau at Beynac which is beautiful, and the view is particularly good when the hot air balloons are floating past at dawn and dusk. We found the site to be quiet as it is set back from the road - there is a train line running alongside, but it runs very quietly, not too frequently and does not run at night. It certainly didn\'t bother us in a tent.
In terms a facilities, there is a very nice pool. The bread service is very good, and the shop provides a few essentials. We didn\'t use the bar/restaurant, though it was popular as was the pizza take away service. There was no organised entertainment or late night noise, which was great for us.
The sanitary facilities were excellent and modern (toilet seats and paper).
The owners are proud of their green credentials and provide facilities for recycling and composting, the latter which is quite unusual in our experience.
The owners of the site are second to none...incredibly helpful and friendly with nothing a problem. When there was a bad storm forecast, they visited every pitch to make sure that everyone was well prepared and they patrolled the site in case anyone needed help. Above and beyond anything we have received.
We stayed for nearly 3 weeks and we couldn\'t recommend the campsite highly enough.

Very friendly staff, great location, swimming pool excellent and well maintained.

The lady owner was very friendly when we arrived and gave us a choice of pitches most of which had a lovely view of the chateau. The shower facilities were one of the best that we experienced on our France adventure this year. The water temperature in the showers was good and in the dishwasher area it was hot ( unlike a lot of other sites we visited). The swimming pool was a nice refreshing temperature and kept nice and clean. There were two different walks to the château one short walk across a field or alternatively a longer walk following the road. The owners take orders for morning bread deliveries or alternatively there is a boulangerie in the village. Cycling routes are all on main roads and, obviously, in this area very hilly. However, the cycle to La Roque was relatively easy and very interesting when you get there. We didn’t have any food on-site so unable to comment (need an n/a on the review scoring). Overall, we would recommend this site !

Wonderful location within sight of the Chateau de Beynac and easy reach by bike of other beautiful places in the Dordogne. The Dutch / French family owners are very friendly and helpful. Lovely swimming pool. The site had a great, relaxed vibe in mid-September.
