A friendly campsite with tall trees situated by the River Creuse in the town of Argenton, sometimes called 'the Venice of the Berry', with several medieval and Roman remains (Museum Argentomagus). Close to the centre (a 15 minute walk). The long 'Voie Verte' is close by. Lovely large swimming pool in the village.

Arriving soon after the office closed for lunch I was disappointed that the pitches nearest to the river were all cordoned off, the toilet block was locked and the pitches looked muddy. Not a good start, but a pleasant lady emerged from the office, showed me where the open sanitary block was. We chose a pitch further away from the railway. The sanitary block was heated and the showers warm. Argentomagus and shirt museums were well worth a visit as were the views from the old bridge.

Cannot comment on last three categories. Great location close to the town and very pretty by the river. Good for cycling. Some of the pitches very large, but not always easy to find hook up. Also could not see any other water pipes apart from by motor home service area- (which was very good and easily accessible) Unisex toilet block with only 2 WCs and you walk past urinals. Good washing up facilities with very hot water.

Had a lovely couple of nights here. Nice quiet campsite on the edge of the Creuse. Not much in the way of local walking trails. Quite a steep walk to supermarket but overall a good place to stay for a couple of days rest.

Friendly welcome from owners. Smallish site with marked out grassy pitches. Not enough electric points for pitches. Some lovely pitches by river but no electric. WiFi at reception. Facilities block toilets , showers, washing up etc. Toilets no seats or paper. Showers push button uncontrollable temperature but a little on the cool side. Walk along river into Argenton nice old town
