We discovered this campsite this year and it sits in the most beautiful setting. The pitches are well appointed and very private. The owners are exceptional and go over and beyond to make sure you have a great stay- Our first time there but we will be back!

We stayed 2/3 not sure , we had a very peaceful and relaxing stay in a pleasant woodland setting, the pitches are very private with bushes and trees surrounding the pitches. The owners of the Camping du Bois de St Hilaire are English and are the most welcoming helpful couple . We would not hesitate to stay at this site again.

Friendly welcome from English owners. Pitches clearly demarcated with good amounts of shade. Lots of water points & easy MH emptying. Showers excellent; other facilities a work in progress. Excellent boulangerie 15 minute walk away. Good signed walks directly from campsite.

Spent a relaxing 4 days on this site. As per other reviews there is a good friendly welcome from the owners. Showers were very nice with no push button (!) and lovely hot water. Pool not open nor food provision as we were early on season so can\'t comment. It was very hot so somewhere to swim would be good as otherwise it is quite a trip to lakes.
Great for bird watching, numerous Montagu\'s Harriers seen less than 2 km from site and the woodland setting meant it was peaceful with plenty of bird song. Parthenay a great place to visit nearby with plenty of amenities.

This is our favourite campsite of all ! We’ve been to many through France and Spain and some have more up market facilities but here you can relax and feel welcomed. ! The owners are absolutely great, so friendly and warm and that sets the atmosphere for the whole site surrounded by their private woodland which serves as an excellent dog walk. The pitches are enormous and the washing / shower facilities superb with hot water also for when washing dishes too. Set in an unspoilt area of France near Poitiers it’s ideal as a stop over for going further south or just staying put for a holiday ! A children’s paradise with traditional games such as crazy golf ( but sympathetically designed within the woodland) badminton, and just being able to feel free and safe. So a huge thumbs up from us snd we’ll be back as often as time permits.
