Nice pitches, demarcated and shaded. Quiet location on the outskirts of the woods and the city. 2 km from the centre, 1.5 km from the swimming pool, 1 km from a shopping centre. Cycling and hiking along the rivers Saar and Moselle. Excursions to Trier, Luxembourg and France.

Stayed a couple of nights in order to visit Trier. 40 minutes walk into Saarburg. Wonderful little town on the river. Caught train to Trier 10 euros each way. What a fantastic city!
Campsite fairly good. Staff helpful. Was a public holiday when we arrived so paid a bit extra and it was pretty full. We were squashed in a bit by the side of the road just inside the entrance but we were fine. I believe you can pay more for more sheltered pitch.
Just be aware no taxis back uphill to campsite so was a trek back late in the day in 33° heat.

Travelling party: Couple

Just had a peaceful 2 night stay at this great site. The lady on reception made us very welcome and is one of the family who own the site. The site is set in a lovely woodland setting. The pitches are either on grass with hedge boundaries or hardstanding. The toilet block and showers are excellent and kept very clean. Bread can be ordered daily at reception. Saarburg town is a twenty minute walk away. The site also has horse riding facilities available. A must stopover if you are in the area.
