Nice, attractive canoe campsite near a municipal swimming pool and 300 m from the lovely village centre. Whisper boat hire. The campsite is located right on the Pieterpad (trail). Luxury restaurant at the campsite. Winsum has been named the most beautiful village in the Netherlands.

Travelling party: Seniors

Nice staff on this site. Quite a lot of standing water about during a wet April but some pitches are reinforced with plastic so we were OK. Not many others here. Quite why Winsum was voted most beautiful village is a mystery to me. it’s nice enough but nothing special, I’ve seen more picturesque in the Netherlands. That’s not a reflection on the campsite though which is fine for a short stop.
